What is organic cotton?

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production.

How will my baby benefit from wearing organic cotton?

·         Your Baby’s skin does not fully develop until 3 years of age making it more sensitive and is less resistant to toxins.

·         Organic cotton is grown without toxic pesticides and is not treated with harsh chemicals that may leave residues which are harmful to people with allergies and chemical sensitivity.

·         Organic cotton poses no apparel-related health risks to your little ones or yourself.

·         Organic cotton fabrics are made only with low impact dyes or color grown cotton with no dyes at all.

In addition to health and environmental benefits, are there any other reasons to wear organic cotton?

Yes. The chemicals used in the growing, processing, and dying of conventional cotton, break down the fiber and create a weaker, inferior garment.  Since organic cotton is not compromised with these methods, it is softer, more breathable, and longer lasting. Organic cotton is definitely a better long term value than other fabrics.
